The initiative has enabled the client to strengthen internal competencies, reduce its exposure to risk and move towards a stronger preventive culture. As always, PRODEN GROUP offers these training services <strong>throughout Catalonia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the paper converting industry, continuous production, automated lines and frequent format changes require complex machinery, high production rates and intensive maintenance operations. All this poses a permanent challenge in terms of <strong>industrial safety<\/strong>, especially in terms of <strong>machine safety<\/strong>, maintenance interventions and coordination between production, quality, engineering and prevention. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Machinery safety in the paper industry: challenges and need for training<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The paper sector presents particularities that increase the criticality of <strong>industrial machinery safety<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Production lines with moving elements, cylinders, rollers, rollers and cutting systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recurrent adjustment, cleaning and tooling change operations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Corrective and preventive maintenance interventions in environments with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic power.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Need to maintain high availability of equipment in a very competitive market.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this scenario, <strong>specialized training<\/strong> becomes a key tool for middle management and technicians to have an in-depth knowledge of the applicable regulations, legal responsibilities and good practices in <strong>blocking and lockout (LoTo)<\/strong>, work permits and coordination of activities.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Objectives of the training project<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The training was designed for a multidisciplinary group of <strong>12 attendees<\/strong>, with profiles belonging to the <strong>quality, safety, maintenance, production and engineering<\/strong> departments.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main objectives were:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To provide a clear view of the <strong>legal requirements<\/strong> regarding the safety of machinery and work equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To provide technical criteria for interpreting and enforcing compliance with the <strong>Essential Health and Safety Requirements (EHSR)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide practical tools to organize <strong>safe interventions<\/strong> (LoTo, work permits, intervention modes, coordination).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create a common language between departments that facilitates safe decision making.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PRODEN GROUP Methodology: Applied and plant-oriented machine safety training<\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Practical approach adapted to the industrial environment<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>machine safety<\/strong> training was structured in a 4.5-hour classroom session, based on:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Technical exposition<\/strong> and conceptual clarity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Real examples and typical situations<\/strong>, contextualized in the paper sector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Guided discussions<\/strong> to align criteria and responsibilities between departments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use of <strong>templates and checklists<\/strong> to support the standardization of best practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The practical approach allowed attendees to easily relate the content to their daily operations.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key contents for machine safety training: regulations, responsibilities and safe work<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The structure of the training content was organized in two main blocks:<\/p>\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Block 1 &#8211; Machine safety and legal responsibilities<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicable regulations:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.boe.es\/doue\/2006\/157\/L00024-00086.pdf\">Directive 2006\/42\/EC<\/a><\/strong> y <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.boe.es\/buscar\/act.php?id=BOE-A-2008-16387\">RD 1644\/2008<\/a><\/strong> (machinery).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.boe.es\/buscar\/doc.php?id=DOUE-L-2023-80916\">Regulation (EU) 2023\/1230<\/a> on machinery<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.boe.es\/buscar\/act.php?id=BOE-A-1997-17824\">RD 1215\/1997<\/a><\/strong> on work equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.boe.es\/buscar\/act.php?id=BOE-A-1995-24292\">Law 31\/1995<\/a> on Occupational Risk Prevention<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Concepts of <strong>CE marking<\/strong>, technical documentation, modifications and responsibilities of the employer and controls.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Introduction to technical standards such as <strong>EN ISO 12100<\/strong>, <strong>EN ISO 13849-1<\/strong>, <strong>EN 60204-1<\/strong>, <strong>EN ISO 14120<\/strong> and <strong>EN ISO 14122<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Block 2 &#8211; Safe interventions, LoTo and work organization<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Principles of <strong>blocking and appropriation (LoTo)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Work permits<\/strong> for technical interventions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Planning and control of <strong>interventions on machinery<\/strong>, verification prior to start-up and recording of actions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As complementary regulations, cross-cutting provisions such as <strong>RD 614\/2001 on electrical risk<\/strong> and <strong>RD 486\/1997<\/strong> on conditions in workplaces were also cited.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Benefits achieved by the paper manufacturer<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The training was <strong>very well received<\/strong>, highlighting its immediate applicability and practical orientation. Among the most relevant benefits: <\/p>\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Better alignment with current regulations<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Clarity in obligations and responsibilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increased ability to detect deviations and prioritize corrective actions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Strengthening the preventive culture<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cohesion between production, maintenance, quality, safety and engineering.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increased safety leadership in middle management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Solid basis for improving safe intervention procedures<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Clear criteria for revising or creating <strong>LoTo<\/strong> procedures and work permits.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Templates and checklists that facilitate internal audits and standardization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reduced operational risk and improved internal coordination<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reduction of potential incidents in machinery interventions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Better planning of shutdowns and critical tasks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This project consolidates the role of PRODEN GROUP as a benchmark in <strong>training and consultancy in machinery safety<\/strong>, providing methodology, rigor and added value to the Catalan industrial sector.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PRODENGROUP ACADEMY: technical training for industry all over Catalonia<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although this project was developed in the province of <strong>Girona<\/strong>, PRODEN GROUP offers its <strong>training<\/strong> programs <strong>in machine safety<\/strong>, risk assessment, CE marking and process improvement <strong>throughout Catalonia.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The area <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/prodengroup.com\/en\/areas\/academy\/\">PRODEN GROUP Academy<\/a><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/prodengroup.com\/en\/areas\/academy\/\"> <\/a>area designs training programs totally oriented to the industrial reality and to the operational needs of each client, integrating:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Specialized technical training.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Practical plant-oriented methodology.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expert support by engineers specialized in machine safety.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":1604,"template":"","area-de-proyecto":[40],"categoria-de-proyecto":[74],"class_list":["post-1599","proyectos","type-proyectos","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","area-de-proyecto-academy","categoria-de-proyecto-paper"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.7 -
